I can’t believe this little one is 6 already. Seriously? Where did the days go? It is my niece I am talking about. She is the oldest of the cousins on my side of the family. Wow…6! She’s a great 6 too. She’s funny, sweet, and just lovely to be around. She gives out compliments all the time, which is just so great. What a gift. ”Auntie Carrie, I LOVE your shirt”… “Auntie Carrie, your hair looks beautiful today”… (my all time fav) “Auntie Carrie, you have the most beautiful boobies” (no lie… I was cracking up!).
Anyway, I made her a shirt to wear on her birthday. I got the idea from Juicy Bits. That girl has some seriously good ideas for birthdays. You should totally check her out.
Her head is really pretty too, but, you know… no posting pics of other people’s children on your own blog… at least for me
She loved the shirt. Yay! Score one for auntie. I also made her the Bo Peep Skirt from Anna Maria Horner’s book. The pattern was pretty easy to follow and I liked how it turned out. I don’t know if I just measured her waist wrong or if I did something else wrong, but it first came out WAY too big. I ended up just cinching the elastic some more and it ended up fine. You sort of see that she is wearing it with the above shirt which I assure you was not the intention, but we know how kids are… not into matching and all that sort of grown up stuff. I know she wore this skirt for at least 3 days in a row… does an auntie’s heart good. I’m glad she liked it.
So, I am getting close to 100 posts. Can you believe it? Kind of crazy and all that. So, do you think I should do a giveaway for 100 posts or should I wait and do something really fabulous for my one year anniversary… which isn’t until October? Maybe I will do both. Hmmm…. I’d love some ideas. I’ve never done a giveaway before. Juicy Bits is doing one and she is doing it differently by making people post a comment before the actual giveaway that way someone who is an actual reader of her blog gets it. I think that is great. Genius really. I might do that. Hmmm.
Well, ta for now and smooches to ya!

That skirt turned out really cute!
The skirt looks great! My little guy turns 7 tomorrow – maybe I’ll make him a shirt today! I love it when regular readers win my giveaways – I never know how to do it so that happens – mostly I never say blog about it on your blog because then that always attracts a big group.
Giveaways are always fun – I think I have a couple coming up too – blog anniversary and 400 posts.
what? no giveaways yet? i say do for it and make it a good one…so i can win.
cute cute cute!!!
I stopped by juicy bits – good grief – that monster party!!! love it!!
& you should definitely do a giveaway
Definetly two give aways…;-)
I LOVE the skirt. Really, really cute. The shirt is a good idea too. I think, might do that for the girls’ 3rd next year.
Also, I am at 90 posts right now, so I think come August, I will be reaching 100. I will have to start thinking about what to give away…
What gorgeous fabric you used. so bright and cheerful. The little is lucky to have such a nice Aunt!
