Okay, folks, here it is! This is super simple and I hope you share with me if you decide to make any. I always did like show and tell in school… I feel like this could be the grown up version. Well, since this is super easy, I am going to share some tips along the way so I can sound like I know what I am doing…k? Alright let’s get started.
Supplies:
2 contrasting fabrics (amounts will differ depending on size of napkin. Mine are 12″ square when finished. I made 8, so I bought 1 1/2 yards of each fabric and had PLENTY left over incase I decide I want more later)
Thread to match fabric
Scissors and other typical sewing stuff (pins, marking tool, ruler, etc.)
Okay, like I said, mine are 12″ square when finished. So, cut a 12 1/2 ” square out of each fabric.
Pin them together with the right sides of the fabric facing each other. Using a 1/4″ seam allowance, sew all the way around piviting at the corners and leaving a 2″ opening for turning it inside out. When you pivot at the corners, lift your presser foot with the needle still in the fabric, then turn the fabric 90 degrees, lower your presser foot and continue sewing.
Clip your corners… I like to clip across the point and then a little on each side.
Next, turn it inside out pushing out the corners with a turning tool or a chopstick. Okay, here is one of those tips I was talking about. Sometimes a chopstick doesn’t cut it, so I like to use a pin to pull out my corners. Basically you put your pin into your corner and then use it to pull out the corner to give it a nice clean point. Clear as mud, right?? Hopefully these pics will help you visualize.
Press nicely tucking in the opening and then topstich around the sides using a 1/8″ seam allowance and closing up your opening. Make sure your threads match the fabrics. I had to use a brown bobbin with a cream top thread.
Yay! Now you are finished! Easy peasey and you just went a little green… I’m so proud of you!
By-the-way, aren’t those flowers nice?? Huh, huh?? My sweet hubby sent them to me on Tuesday, our Anniversary. Not only do I love getting flowers, but I LOVE getting mail (it’s a strange thing, but it’s true, mail makes me happy and all warm inside!). Isn’t he great! We were away from each other since he was working in Maryland, but it was still a great day. It hasn’t been an easy 8 years, but they have been sweet and we have grown so much. We have had unbearable heart aches and yet amazing joys together too… I couldn’t ask to go through life with a better man. I love ya, honey!!
Okay, now go make some fantatically cute napkins and then send me some pictures!
Ta for now!

I love you too. I can’t hardly wait to get home tomorrow. I might have to invest in a radar detector so I can drive 125 MPH all the way home (I hope no cops or ethicists are reading this). That’ll sure cut down my travel time!
happy anniversary
